Ingredients
- 2 fresh eggs (you can make more; see notes)
- Non-stick cooking spray
- 6 tablespoons water (3 tablespoons per egg)
Instructions
- Spray the inside of small heatproof cups, like ramekins, with non-stick cooking spray. Place the cups in the air fryer basket.
- Add 3 tablespoons of water to each cup.
- Preheat the air fryer (with the water-filled cups inside) to 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Carefully open the air fryer and crack one egg into each cup. Be careful—the water will be hot, and the egg whites might start cooking immediately.
- Reduce the air fryer temperature to 360°F and cook for 5–6 minutes.
- Check the eggs when the timer ends. They will continue cooking slightly in the hot water, so avoid overcooking unless you prefer a firmer yolk.
- Use oven mitts to remove the hot cups from the air fryer. Gently slide a small spatula around the edges of each egg to loosen it.
- Carefully lift each egg out with a spoon and serve on a plate or on toast.
Notes
- Use the freshest eggs possible for the best results.
- Silicone cups are not recommended, as they don’t conduct heat well.
- You can make more eggs using this method, but you may need to cook them in batches depending on your air fryer size.
