Preparation time: 30 minutes | Cooking time: 15 minutes | Total time: 45 minutes | Kcal: Approximately 300 per serving | Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients:

– 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 cup buttermilk
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup cornmeal
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Vegetable oil for frying
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust for desired heat)
– Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for about 30 minutes. This will make them tender and juicy!
2. While the shrimp soak, mix the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure there’s enough oil to fry the shrimp properly.
4. Take the shrimp out of the buttermilk, letting any excess drip off. Then, coat each shrimp in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
5. Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding, about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
6. In a small saucepan, combine honey and hot sauce over low heat until warmed through. Stir well to combine.
7. Drizzle the hot honey mixture over the fried shrimp and toss gently to coat.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy while hot!
